Xbox Live change its policy on sexual preferences of the user

Microsoft has decided to change their policies regarding user identification in terms of sexual preference, race, religion or nationality in Xbox Live. Marc Whitten, general manager of the service, said the new code of conduct will allow players to express themselves more freely on these characteristics.
From now on, it is possible to use the words lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and straight in a user name or profile. The new policy still does not define what the terms authorized to refer to race, nationality or religion. Microsoft had previously forbidden these expressions of fear that could be used as a pejorative.
However, Xbox Live decided to reassess its policy after 2009, a lesbian player was taken out of the game by identifying themselves as gay in his profile. It is not the only case that has been presented: one player named Richard Gaywood was unable to use his name to Microsoft bans.
This policy change an opening speech to the recognition of homosexuality as a normal social situation. After all, the video game online interaction becomes an area of \u200b\u200bsocialization, as well as a space for identity construction of being. Congratulations on your initiative, though no doubt be a few backward rubbing his hands with the decision to disturb the others on Xbox Live.
