Earlier I visited Ricardo in Granada and father gave me a book he wrote about the formation of the laity (S. Aldana Ricardo J., Formation of the laity: Truth and mission Maior Foundation, Madrid) . Hence, I share a beautiful poem that appointment and I did not know the authorship of Charles Péguy. This is an excerpt of "Ballade du coeur that battu tant," where he shows his love for the Christian virtues.

A simplistic reading of this work by Péguy, it seems to value the supernatural in man, is an insult to the human and effort. Anything outside of reality. Following Christian tradition, St. Augustine and St. Thomas, the poet shows the action of God in man and that does not detract at all human efforts to achieve what we call the cardinal virtues: justice, prudence, fortitude and temperance. But how much effort and the cardinal virtues had, the man can not afford to do so for their own salvation. Nor is it a condition to make them all the others. The theological virtues is simply a gift from God. It Gracia, free. The man does nothing to deserve it. But the same Father Ricardo said that the game between the four cardinal virtues and three theological virtues in this poem "should not be construed as a dualism opposition to the Christian diviera 'something divine in it' and 'the human in he '. Nothing could be further from that dualism Péguy ... There is no dualism, but neither a monism of the supernatural that would absorb the natural "(p. 128 op. Cf)
